Her mom brings such a fabulous mix of clothing to each session too- a little bit girly, a little bit urban, and a little bit FUN! Thanks for making the trip over from Vancouver ladies, it’s always lovely to see you two (and soon to be one more!!).
July almost didn’t happen. This day is July 31, yep, absolute crunch time. July and August have been really busy for me with obligations. Some work, some familial, some purely pleasure- but it’s been packed. My photo-a-day project of Matthew’s first year came to an end on July 13, and since then holy cow, the amount of actual photos that I am taking of the kids has dropped significantly. I still get i-phone shots every day, but the “big camera” is living in my office more often than not these days. This is why I am really glad that I am doing these 12 days, it reminds me to document our lives, like I am documenting others! There are some shots this month that are among some of my most absolute favourite of my children, some that REALLY show their personalities, and that seriously made me giggle- see if you can spot them. And I didn’t bother with the evening, I felt that was covered last month after my entire post was dedicated to the evening due to a data back-up failure. Take pictures of your kids, do things with those pictures, document your life. Be a memory keeper for your family.
Miss P was such a little personality. She gave me such a variety of expressions. Her curious little mind was always going- I think mama and dad have a real smarty pants on their hands. Combine her smarts with her beautiful little face, and well- look out world! Penelope’s mama and I were nearly due date buddies, we were on the same highlight rotation with the stylist friend that we share. It has been fun sharing this experience togetherPenelope was actually born the day after Matty’s due date, so had he not been in such a rush, well, we could have had hospital twins!
Today, this adorable little miss was celebrating her first birthday at one of the best local beaches Victoria has to offer… Mother nature delivered a gorgeous day, and I am sure everyone had a great time!
I had so much fun getting together with the Bird family this week. I love it when extended family gets together for portraits; with today’s busy world, we barely see our loved ones, so it’s nice to have that time together- and to document it! We did a ton of different groupings, some planned, some spur of the moment, and I think it gives their gallery a fun, eclectic feel. These are going to make a great wall collection
I love, love, love a styled session! Miss S, her mama Mila, and Auntie Serena came prepared to create some truly incredible images. When I saw the flowers, and baked goods, and dresses- I knew this shoot was going to be a stunner. Throw in a little mother nature; deliriously yummy back light, an even more yummy little gal with bouncing curls, and you my friend are in photographer’s heavenIt was an absolute pleasure to shoot this session, and I look forward to the Fall when I get to see these gorgeous, creative gals again!
